The MSGL40® is a fully qualified 4th generation compact and lightweight short cylinder multi-shot grenade launcher. It weighs less than 4 kg, approximately the same weight as most modern assault rifles. The MSGL40® is designed as an area weapon and is a force-multiplier for the individual military operator. Six 40mm low velocity 40x46mm grenades can be directed at the chosen target(s) in less than 3 seconds at ranges of up to 400m in a terminal area of 20 x 60m. It can also be used in a pinpoint role at ranges up to 150m. Like the XRGL40® it is a semi-automatic weapon with a new advance mechanism - an important deviation from other MGLs using a gas-operated index mechanism - for improved operation and reliability.
